Combining the beauty of our timber frame homes with our Smart Shell system provides maximum energy efficiency, flexibility, and accessibility. This high-performance insulation package includes roof, ceiling, and exterior wall panels, energy-efficient windows, and exterior doors to create the tightest seal possible.
Made of OSB and EPS foam, the structural insulated panels (SIPs) we use in our Smart Shell system are 100% recyclable, emit no off-gassing, use 50% less framing lumber, and produce 60% less job-site waste. They also hold superior R-values, so unlike fiberglass insulation, our SIPs do not sag, shift, settle, or compress.
In our efforts to maintain the highest quality control, we're involved early on in the planning process to ensure the system is effectively incorporated into the overall design in the most efficient way. By stepping in at the beginning, we're able to eliminate a lot of hassle and extra cost down the road by emphasizing specific plan considerations, such as electrical channels and plumbing, BEFORE the drawings are finished. This thoughtful approach also allows for easy repair and replacement in the future.
Manufactured offsite in factory-controlled conditions, our SIPs are cut to exact specifications using precision technology, accounting for all electrical power chases, doors, and windows. In addition, we can pre-route panels to make it even easier for electricians. Our panels are fabricated to the strictest code requirements and are available in sizes up to 24-feet long.
The Native Structures Smart Shell system is assembled onsite by our expert crew to maximize efficiency and minimize job waste. In the event that Native Structures is not the architect or contractor on the project, we coordinate directly with the general contractor to schedule the Smart Shell installation.
