Installation process
Whether we are contracted by a builder to provide our Smart Shell system or we are providing SIPs for our own timber frame design, the fabrication and installation processes are the same.
Once a home's design is completed, we use the architect's drawings as our blueprint for fabricating our SIPs. We start by coordinating with our engineer to calculate loading capacities and determine important fabrication details. Next, we create shop drawings of the panels to determine the sizes we'll need as well as the fabrication steps necessary for the exact specifications.
Manufactured offsite in factory-controlled conditions, Native Structures SIPs and Smart Shell panels are cut using precision technology, accounting for all electrical power chases, doors, and windows. Our structural insulated panels are fabricated to the strictest code requirements and are available in sizes up to 8-feet wide and 24-feet long.
Once completed, Native Structures SIPs are transported to the jobsite and installed by our expert crew to maximize efficiency and minimize job waste. In the event that Native Structures is not the architect or contractor on the project, we coordinate directly with the general contractor to schedule the SIP or Smart Shell delivery and installation.
